Pillars of the Earth has a very natural looking make-up. It's set in the Middle Ages. Downtowm Abbey is also pre WWII. BBC Merlin actually is not that hard on the make-up, though it's extremely historically inaccurate.

How do you feel about men wearing make-up?

"The Great War" is WW1 not 2.

Thanks. That's what I thought when I saw the comment above but I wasn't sure.

I don't watch Murdoch Mysteries so may I ask you - does this actor actually wear guyliner (manscara?) or does he just have a lot of thick dark eyelash action going on?

NAYRT

I think it's a combination of the two?

The series is...kind of stupid/for teh lulz. The original TV movies were much better, IMO; but they weren't that faithful to the books, which are much more like the current series.

You think so? After I saw the first season, I tried reading one of the books and couldn't get through it because it was nothing like the show I loved. I've only seen the movies once but they seemed a bit more like the books, IMO. Maybe I didn't try reading the best example.

He wears a very distinctive destructing guyliner. I didn't want to post a large pic here, but I notice it all the time when I watch the series. It's extremely noticeable. A dark brown liner that's applied generously on lower eyelids.
