I would definitely read an adaptation where Watson is a veterinarian, though I can't decide what role I'd like to see Holmes in... drug-sniffing dog? Irresponsible owner of a dog he's trained to detect criminal evidence?

Oooh, this is adorable. No, but what if Holmes isn't irresponsible, it's just the drawbacks of the job? Like, he and his dog were tracking down a criminal and the criminal wounded the dog? And now Holmes is super fussed about it, even though he's trying to appear chill :D But no worries, Watson will save his companion!

I'd happily read this.
