Almost entirely positive. Some of my closest friends are people I've met online and carried on relationships with over the course of decades.

I'm pretty picky about people I choose to meet irl that I've known online though. We have to have talked more than a few times, and generally we've met at Cons and the like.

There was only one time that someone turned out to be ...weird. And then it wasn't a creepy stalker weird, it was just a socially awkward and completely different personality offline kind of weird. That happens, though.

Edit: Because everyone else seems to be doing it, I'd say I've met upwards of 20 people offline that I've known online, 4 of which I'd consider close friends, and about 10 of which I'd consider pretty good people/would meet and hang out with again.

I've lost touch with a fair number of them, though.
