Re: Sera Misgenders Krem

(Disclaimer: haven't played the game yet, want to but it'll be a while.)

While I'm annoyed and vaguely offended at "he's a she" being presented in a list as equal to an STD, abuse of power, infidelity, and a birth defect that's imply by the next sentence to be the result of incest, I'm kind of sad that I've never once seen fandom taking that line and running with it in a trans-positive direction.

Like, no headcanoning Random Court NPC #342 as trans and hiding it, only showing her face to the public for Super Important Events where she has to present as male - nothing.

I'm not trying to say it has to be one or the other. In fact, I'd love it if both interpretations were widely entertained (or many more than those two). It would be a lot more fun, and I say this as an agender person myself.

I really like your headcanon, that's a great way to interpret it. And considering people dressing as the opposite sex for social reasons - such as the historical Aveline dressing as a man to enter chevalier tournaments - is canon in this world, it's also possible that this character is doing something similar. It doesn't bother me to look at it as Sera just being rude - that's who she is, after all - but there's more than one way to look at that throwaway line than the worst way.
