I really like your headcanon, that's a great way to interpret it. And considering people dressing as the opposite sex for social reasons - such as the historical Aveline dressing as a man to enter chevalier tournaments - is canon in this world, it's also possible that this character is doing something similar. It doesn't bother me to look at it as Sera just being rude - that's who she is, after all - but there's more than one way to look at that throwaway line than the worst way.
