F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required (for those who struggle with captchas and stuff).
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

Were Ross and Rachel on a break?

They were on a break, but break /=/ "sleep with the first woman you find because you're convinced your girlfriend was cheating on you."

CAPSLOCK!Harry in OotP

Honestly? He was so nonchalant (relatively speaking) in the first few books that I thought it was about time, though it helped that I was only a few years older so read it from a teenage perspective. I knew he was being hotheaded and assholeish, but I couldn't blame him in the least.

Capslock Harry didn't bother me either and honestly it kind of pisses me off when people go on and on about it, because they tend to be the same people who think they would be the badasses in every fictional situation instead of acknowledging that you don't know how you would react and they could just as likely be the one crying in the corner.

i remember reading about people complaining about capslock harry and not understanding AT ALL. like, he had debilitating pain in scar, was having horrific nightmares, had been suffering extreme stress and abuse his entire life, his godfather died... come on guys. cut the kid some slack and let the dude rant and rave a sec. OOTP is my fave book too, so.

Not to mention the fact that the newspapers and the prime minister and the government were all actively and openly mocking him and calling him a diva and a liar. The press and government were actively bullying and taunting a 15 year old boy for political reasons.

And everyone at school were shunning and mocking and gossiping about him too.

And his professor was making him repeatedly mutilate his own hand for telling the truth, for days on end.

And he probably had severe trauma from seeing Cedric die and Voldemort being resurrected and then torturing him.

Like, seriously, guys? I'd like to see you all handle it better.

IA with the break.

The thing I really hate about the break is that it is such a point of contention today when it really shouldn't be. And the reason is because it is the only time in S3 when Ross can be defended. I don't think anyone can really defend Ross's possessive behavior prior to the break (explain it, yes, but it is widely agreed that Ross was being an ass then), and I think that Ross handled the aftermath terribly. People blame Joey and Chandler for convincing Ross to hide it from Rachel, but the second Ross realized Rachel wasn't going to forgive and forget like usual, he guilt tripped her, tried to kiss it away, justified himself, and quickly forgot that he broke her heart in the first place. Then he turned it into a running joke out of spite. But it's such a complicated set of events so that's why it's very divisive.

tl;dr I hate the break. R/R's other issues (namely Ross's possessiveness) should have been the reason for their break up.

I think capslock Harry reaction is very age based. I - and I think a lot of fellow teenage readers - hated angry Harry because he hit too close to home. He was giving us a bad name and he was supposed to be the hero, he was supposed to be competent and level-headed than a shouting mess. As an adult re-reading, it makes total sense, and I feel for him.
