Sorry, don't agree. The fact is that actresses are expected to promote whatever movie/TV show they're in and walking the red carpet is one of those ways to promote things. But being bombarded with questions about their clothing/accessories will always be annoying unless you're way into fashion. And a mani-cam? FFS, they're 100% entitled to tell people to fuck off.

You wouldn't like it if you were doing something that was an overrated part of your job and people kept asking you dumb, repetitive questions about trivial things and then insisted that because you were out in public, people have a right to make you show them your clothes and inspect your nails.

Nah. This isn't something new. It is pretty much established the red carpet is for fashion. No one reads, "Best Person Talking About Their Movie" lists after the Oscars.

Sure there's Best Dressed lists, but they're simply about the overall presentation. They're not about what the actress said to the media people, so your comparison doesn't work. Anyway, they should be asked about their work because the thoughts of an actor on their performance are way more interesting to hear them talk about on the red carpet than their make-up for the night.

Who said it was new? Does the fact that this has happened for a while make it necessary for all women to put up with it? I mean... does that really sound logical to you? Lots of objectionable practices last for years (or decades or centuries), it doesn't mean we're stuck with them forever.
