What the actual fuck. Was this a commercial that aired during the supebowl or something?

Katy Perry's halftime show had shark backup dancers flanking her. The Left Shark pretty much gave up on the choreography and just sort of did his own thing. Looking completely ridiculous and hilarious, as she got upstaged by a guy in a goofy-looking shark costume.

And like all things in pop culture, it became a meme.
