IDK I always had a very difficult time understanding how anybody could take the Harry/Hermione ship seriously. Even knowing that Harry and Hermione are straight, it didn't make that pairing any more plausible than Snape and Dumbledore or any other odd pairings.

I think some people see a man and woman (or boy and girl) in close proximity and immediately think "Ship!" And media has totally trained that into people, so I don't blame them. They're the same age, friends, major characters, and opposite sex, that's all you're supposed to need!

Personally it seemed clear to me that Harry/Ginny was an endgame ship, but I didn't know if Ron/Hermione would be.
