I guss you're not going to be the only one, because a lot of those classics have childhood or other associations for a lot of people.

Hope you got it when it was free on Google Play.

Of course the songs are so old you can probably find them for free anywhere.

Unless you mean the orchestral soundtrack, which is also nice.

While I like the movie too, the soundtrack really is awesome and full of nostalgia.

Text: I like the soundtrack of this movie more than the movie itself. The plot's ok and the cast is great but the music is just incredible. (I guess it hits me 'right in the feels' as the young folks say these days.)

I still haven't seen it, but all the little bits I have seen of it just scream Keith Giffen so I'm very, very excited for when I do finally get around to watching.

I enjoyed the movie but the soundtrack was also very nicely put together and complimented the film very well imo.

Same.

Not something I'll watch again, but the soundtrack was nostalgic.

I cherish this film but I also listen to the soundtrack a lot. It is the perfect workout album, imo. (It is also suitable for vacuuming, other chores, or getting dressed.)

I agree with your assessment of both the movie and the soundtrack 100%.

I feel like in recent years, filmmakers are getting a lot cannier about this - using old songs that a huge chunk of the target audience probably remember fondly, to help market their film. I guess this secret suggests it's working...? Funnily for me it has the opposite effect. Doing that kind of thing swiftly turns "mediocre film" into "film I hate with a burning passion". Not necessarily this particular one, which I haven't seen, but I can think of a few other examples. Any time *thing I love* is forcibly paired up with *thing I don't really care for*, the latter tends to become *thing I really really hate*.

...Okay, looking up the soundtrack, yeah that definitely would have pissed me off, I probably would have sat throughout the whole film grinding my teeth in suppressed raaaaage (mental note to self, never watch this film). In fact it's just reminded me how fed up I got of someone I share living space with (who looked forward to this film with enthusiasm) singing/playing "Hooked on a Feeling" repeatedly in the weeks prior to its release, when that song was in the trailers. Dear gods was that ever annoying.
