What in fandom interests me: Meta, my ships (okay, mostly Vetinari/Drumknott, but I'm into canon stuff like Ridcully/Weatherwax and Sam/Sybil are my favourite canon loves), fanfiction. In Pokemon, I love everything multiplayer! Battling, trading, whatever you want. I can also help people with the technical side of Pokemon, like how to breed and stuff so feel free to ask me about those stuff, I love to help.
What in fandom does NOT interest me: Vimes/Vetinari Social justice stuff (sorry), bashing other groups in fandom ... tbh I'm not really into fandom much these days. I haven't talked to a fellow Discworld fan in ages and my Tumblr is mostly empty except from some occasional rl posts and reblogs. I'll happily drop everything to talk about Discworld or Pokemon stuff though, just don't expect me to hit up other people first? haha
Major Non-fandom Interests: I guess literature is kind of fandom. I'm studying (was studying/will be studying, I'm between schools rn) psychology, and I'm huge on stuff about children. I want to go into developmental psychology and I'm currently working as a school teacher. Kids are very important to me, with the added bonus that they are the only group of humans I am not shy about talking to hehe. Also, I'm a Muslim, which is a very important part of my identity. Please feel free to ask me questions about my religion absolutely whenever and I'll do my best to answer!
My LJ/DW/tumblr/etc Contains Mostly: Not much these days, I'm afraid. I still reblog Pokemon fanart from time to time, but my Tumblr is mostly me muttering underneath my breath now. I'm still open to being talked to though! I can be a poor conversation partner, but I do my best, promise.

Hey, I'm next door in Singapore (as an immigrant) :) And Discworld and Pokemon are right up my alley, though I'm extremely casual about Pokemon. But I think the competitive/metagame scene is impressive all the same!

I devoured Diana Wynne Jones books in my school library years ago, but can't remember much of the details now. Tale of Time City and Homeward Bounders were my favourites, iirc. Never read Howl's Moving Castle...for no good reason. That library was also where I discovered Discworld (The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents). I don't ship Vetinari with anyone, btw, but it's because no pairings really appeal to me, not that I don't want him shipped on principle.

You don't have to say your reasons, but for me re: SJ in fandom, I am sometimes interested in discussions of representation, etc., but it often gets too heavy/US-centric/aggressive for me to tolerate when I want to read fandom stuff to de-stress (which is almost always why I do).

I'm not much of a conversationalist either, and this is my first friending meme after years of plain lurking sprinked with anon comments. So, is it alright to add you, if this is how it's done?

Cool, nice to meet you :) Have you played the most recent Pokemon games?

My favourite DWJ books are the Chrestomanci series, I'm so totally in love with it. And The Amazing Maurice is one of my favourite Discworld books! Naturally, my favourite Discworld books are the ones in which Vetinari stars the most, but The Amazing Maurice comes right after them, it's just a really great book. I think it was a bit different from the usual Disc style, and I don't just mean in that it's a children's book either, but it is just as good a read as I expect from the series (barring the later books ofc).

Ugh, I love Vetinari way too much though. And I feel compelled to tell you that most of my Disc friends end up shipping V/D too haha. Probably because you have to at least think that ship plausible to be friends with me ... Vetinari has been the main focus of my fandom life for the past two years, so I tend to yammer about him a lot, which leads me to talking about his relationship with Drumknott too. And I just like Drumknott a lot because a) we share a lot of interests (though that's not why I ship him with Vetinari!) and b) I'm really into cute secretaries.

I feel you there on the SJ stuff too actually, I'm pretty interested in representation as well. But yep, it's definitely very American-centric and aggressive, it always makes me feel just awful so I leave the 'trying to fix the world' stuff to irl and try to just chill when I'm in fandom spaces.

Eek sorry this is so long, I don't know when to stop sometimes. THEY STILL HAVE A HOLD ON MY BRAIN. But yeah, I think the lack of plot depth makes it more fun just because you can play around with a lot of stuff since there's not too much rigid canon. But then again, that also means arguments when people don't agree with headcanons. Fortunately the fandom is pretty small now so there's not really too much drama like that anymore. If there is, I haven't seen it!
