Re: USB drive + water

As everyone said, give it at least a day or two (depending on how drenched it got) before putting it into any device. If you don't need it in the next two days and the stuff on it is that important, I'd leave it even longer.

I once forgot I had a USB drive in my jeans pocket when I washed said jeans (oops), and the thing still works. The data's fine as well, so as long as you make sure that the stick is really, really 100% dry (it's the insides that count!) before using it, you should be fine.
