(Anonymous) 2015-03-10 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)It kind of reminds me of friends who have told me about playing online games where people get MAD if they are gone like a day. In those games, you either have to be completely immersed in it or people will think you abandoned them. Fandom in general can be a little like that at times.

It's why I find very casual guilds. If they raid, I find ones that have a few groups that take on the newbies so we can get gear. OR I just find the ones that will join LFG stuff so we can do raids and dungeons that way. I HATE the mindset that the game has to literally be like a second fucking job. Games are meant to be fun and to be played at your comfort, not someone else's.
It's why I hate the elitist crowds in WoW for shitting all over the Looking for Raid players. LFR in that game is the lowest tier of raiding in the game, designed for people who can only play a few times a week and can't dedicate 3-4 hours (or more) of their time to a whole raid.
