Honestly, that was my initial reaction, too. I have no problem with non-binary people, but for fuck's sake, just go with they. All this zhe/xir crap just sounds like you want attention, and it sounds stupid. You're not an alien from some other planet, you're a human being, pick a pronoun that's an actual word.

yeah it sucks that we live in a binary world but we DO live in it, and people categorize others as either one or the other, you have to pick one if you're going to exist in a space that's not the tumblr online hugbox. sorry, that's reality.

In other news, gays still can't marry, women still can't vote, blacks still have to use separate facilities, etc.
