Captain America does not technically have superhuman abilities. He operates at peak human capacity, meaning he's as strong as a human being can possibly be, as fast as a human can be, etc. But he does not have what you'd call super-strength, he can't run a one-minute mile, any of that.

This is important for the character, because he represents the best of us. He is what we as people could be, just as he's what America could be, if we cared as much, and if we tried as hard.
