Honestly, I think the older I get the more turned off I am by gruesome violence. When I was a kid I would watch the bloodiest war movies and ask for more. Now I'm like...let's watch Disney.

NAYRT -- I think some of it's because most (middle-class, 1st world country) kids don't have any context for that kind of violence. You get older and life happens and suddenly it's not fun anymore because you get that this is shit that actually happens to real people.

I feel you on this, I'm not even that old really but my taste in movies has gone from 'edgy' gore fests to I just want to watch Disney movies or superhero movies for a few hours. Mindless gore just doesn't really appeal to me as much anymore.

Hell I'm in the same place with video games as well, I'd rather play something light-hearted and fun than ALL THE BLOOD AND GUTS, DARK REALISM shit.

(There are exceptions but that's usually when it's my time of the month, and even then I've started drifting towards Disney films instead of watching say Predator for the nth time).
