Stupid Reasons to Stop Consuming Media

What are some stupid reasons you stopped watching/playing/reading something?

There is a new show on Fox called Last Man on Earth. I've heard really good things about it so decided to watch. Unfortunately, I could not make it past the first episode. The female character is played by Kristen Schaal, aka the voice of Louise on Bob's Burgers. I cannot listen to that voice (her real voice I guess) come out of that body.

It probably didn't help that I had just watched two episodes of Bob's Burgers beforehand. Maybe I'll give it another shot, but for now I'll skip it.

My reasons were that the local TV stations just changed airing times, or stopped airing altogether - I missed one or two, and couldn't be bothered to download.

That is why so many Fox shows die! Moving shows around like that makes me think that the networks do not have confidence in their show.

Well, for most of the first season I refused to watch Once Upon a Time because Jennifer Morrison was in it. I also skipped her episodes of How I Met Your Mother on the first viewing. I really hated her House character and it took me a while to see past it to see her in other roles.

I can't STAND Jennifer Morrison either. I hated her character on House as well. She was just so fucking annoying.

I stopped watching Korra when it moved online. I hate watching stuff online.

I am the opposite. I love watching stuff online because I can watch it whenever. What about online watching do you dislike?

When we mostly learned the reason why Coulson was alive, I stopped watching AoS. I had fulfilled my reason, my desire. Someone else told me, THAT'S NOT ALL~ KEEP WATCHING, so I just googled the thing.

I am satisfied. All the wank about AoS, I'm so glad I stopped.

I never watched AOS because I am not a huge TV watcher and I really don't care about SHIELD's inner workings. And yeah, googling is much easier!

I'm curious about Last Man on Earth because I saw that she was in a random commercial. But I'm still torn about starting to watch it because I'm not particularly fond of Will Forte. That man has don't a hell of a lot of voice work too. Sometimes it can be really hard to get past a voice.

With a couple exceptions, I tend to abandon comic books almost immediately after a writer/artist change if I don't like the new team. Like I loved Brian Azzarello's Wonder Woman run with gorgeous art by Cliff Chiang; but then they switched to Meredith and David Finch and I took one look at the previews for their first issue and decided Wonder Woman was over.

Typo in the first paragraph.

Contradiction of already-stated facts/well-known facts within the first ten pages (without a legitimate reason for the contradiction to exist).

Bad science within the first five pages.

First cliche I hit, down goes the book.

A recycled plot that has been done to death approximately one billionty times.

...so yeah, I hardly read anything anymore.

I gave up on SFX Magazine after it almalgamted its online site with a gaming site. I kinda regret it, because SFX's paper magazine used to be all kinds of fun and was informative, and that did spill over onto its online presence. On the other hand, it has become a skeevy gamergate site since the switch and I just do not feel safe contributing to a GG site so I can't participate in its reader rewards and comments scene online.

I thought you were talking about Last Man Standing (the terrible, terrible Tim Allen sitcom) and I was like WHY WOULD YOU EVEN WATCH THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE

anyway, I mostly just randomly stop watching things for no reason other than just suddenly losing interest

Like I stopped reading Gunnerkrigg Court because my RSS feed stopped working and I was like "eh"

... I walked out of the Kingsmen movie when Jack Davenport died in the first five minutes. He was my only reason to see it, even though it's been praised like crazy.

I stopped watching Teen Wolf after one episode because I discovered the fandom and decided I wasn't intrigued enough to make it worth it.

I gave up on Arrow when they kept shoving Roy Harper at me, I didn't care for the character at all and had no interest in watching another episode dealing with him.

Kinda combining this with the "stupid reasons to get in" thread: The whole reason I first took an interest in the IDW Transformer comics is because I heard Rattrap had been brought into continuity. Seeing how his character was handled made me drop it like a hot rock.

Yeah, I know-- different continuity than I grew up with, different character than I grew up with. Knowing that intellectually doesn't diminish the crushing disappointment I felt. Not a perfect example since I have wandered back in recently because of all the good things I've heard and have enjoyed almost everything else I've seen so far. Still can't sit through his scenes, though.

I don't watch cartoons on Cartoon network because the coloring is so flat to me. I love art making use of shading and lightning, shows on Disney channel like Gravity falls are beautiful to me, but shows like Steven Universe just gives me "weird western show" feelings. The character designs and stylizing also put me off. Shame, seems Steven Universe is a pretty awesome show =c.

When Pulp Fiction first came out I avoided it because John Travolta and Bruce Willis were in it and both of them have been in A LOT of shitty movies. I was talked into watching it later and it's one of my fave movies now.
