If they were actually boycotting, that's just so stupid, because what do you think will happen? More shows with black women protagonists? Nope, more shows with white dude protagonists, because they'll see it as proof shows with women do not sell.

As far as I can tell, there was no actual boycott. Some people didn't like that the show because it didn't have any non-white characters, so they decided not to watch it. Like, that's it. And then for some reason people like the OP decided to overreact and claim boycotts we're happening. Because idk this forum is full of drama queens.

You're misconstruing things a tad.

If people were just ignoring the show, then there would have been no issue.

The whole thing was precipitated because a white fan asked people to watch it because she noted that poor ratings are going to make Marvel think that women-led shows won't do well.

Some POC got upset at being asked that and noted that, to them, a white woman protagonist was hardly better than a white man protagonist and wasn't especially progressive.

Both sides went downhill from there.
