Tumblr is really not "full of teenagers". The average person I've seen on Tumblr is about 22.

22 is the new teenager when so many of them still live at home and have no concept of the real world.


I don't have a lot of sympathy or tolerance for that bullshit. I jumped at the chance to move out at 18. Sure, we lived 4 people to a 3 bedroom apartment and ate ramen 6 nights a week on Disney salaries, but that's part of growing up. Suck it up and stop sponging off your parents and don't think you know shit about the real world until you actually experience some.

I'm happily married. With an amazing social life. And a kick ass job. That pays for the life I lead outside of mommy and daddy's house. And I'm also biracial and grew up in a war zone, so I happen to know a little about the real world.




And I don't generalize people based on a fs comment. Because if I did, I would think you're one of those 22 year olds who still live at home and is pissed because someone hit your nail on the head. And also that you're kind of illiterate.

I'm totally with you, anon. Every time I see grown-ass people reblogging posts like "never do anything that makes you uncomfortable, ever!! it's okay to be overwhelmed about everything and choose to do nothing about it!! never leaving your parents' home and sponging off them financially for the rest of your life just makes sense in this economy and you deserve to be happy literally all the time and never face any hardship!! (◡‿◡✿)!!!" make me cringe so hard I practically pull a muscle. I'm someone with an anxiety disorder myself, and you know what? You don't get to use it as an excuse to do nothing in life and remain a perpetual child. Like goddamn, I can't imagine doing something that insanely selfish to my parents, or anyone else in my life.

Age ain't nothin' but a number. Maturity ain't got nothin' to do with numbers. I know some forty year olds who have the maturity of pre-teens. And I've known teenagers who could school older folks in how to behave.

TL;DR: Those 22 year olds act like babies. A lot.
