Wow, you're so right about that! How have I never even noticed it before?

I remember when the Silent Hill film came out, the director outright explained the two leads motivations as; "Mum's priority is saving the child, the husband's priority is his wife - as it should be." I'm glad he got a lot of flack for that.

The worst was that he changed the main character's gender solely because he didn't think people would sympathize with a father looking for his child. Just... what? smh

It's like the "dads are useless idiots" stereotype - untrue and not helpful for anyone.

As a woman, I find it particulaly annoying in advertizing. "Buy out laundry detergent because your husband is an idiot and you are the only one in the household smart enough to understand our detergent is superior." Hey, fuck you.
