Eddie/Waylon isn't my thing so I wasn't aware of this, but a massive LOL at that particular fic being singled out in the sea of "problematic" fanworks this pairing inspires. I'm sure this attack had nothing to do with her getting a bazillion hits and comments and was totally rooted in real-world issues and concerns. I'm also sure the little busybodies who come up with this shit never have any dark thoughts or fantasies of any kind themselves. When you're not in a good place personally, it can be really hard to accept the affection and admiration people have for you and stupidly easy to take negativity to heart and believe it's more valid somehow, but it's not. People who write rape and death threats to another human being over a piece of fiction about two fictional people are the ones who don't belong, not a fanwriter who was nothing but nice to people.
