Yeah, but "your kid will get bullied" is just such a terrible excuse, because kids will pick anything to bully other kids about.

Why not give them a neat name? At least it'll give them a sense of identity when they're not the seventh Aiden/Brayden/Jayden/Logan etc in their class.

I agree. I know from experience that when it comes to bullying, if it's not one thing it's another. I was bullied for many different reasons as a kid.

Yeah, but the name is gonna be front and center and it's something that IS their identity and WHY would you even do that?

It is a good excuse to not do that.

For real. I was unfortunate enough to get stuck with an incredibly common name and I hate it. It's no fun when there are five other people in your class with the same name as you.

I changed my name (well, not legally, but in terms of what I go by) to something a lot less common and I'm much happier now.
