Well, that invalidates my comment below, but that causes a different problem. Your financial options are now severely limited if you cannot work for men or for women who've retained the "benefits" of their heterosexuality. The larger your group grows, the harder your ability to limit interaction, unless, as you state, extreme measures (commune's are fucking tough). It will be hard to grow if you cut yourselves off not only from men, but also most women. If you keep up with those women, you'll be seen as quaintly hypocritical at best, utter failures from the get go at worst.

I'm over it, but I'm also no longer obligated to shore up his crap arguments. I'm going to argue with him like anyone else.

Lesbian separatism is a silly thing to argue against unless you're a queer woman they're bugging. They will literally have no impact on you. There are barely any of them in the first place. Especially when the best thing you have to dredge up is some commune that failed in the seventies (like just about all the other communes).

I think we have different definitions of what "obligated" means.

For example: I'm obligated to be polite; I'm a jerk if I'm not. But there is no rule saying I must say please and thank you. I do so because I don't want to be a jerk. I am obligated not to be a jerk. But not being a jerk is still voluntary.

Me arguing with Noodle doesn't mean I'm not "over it." It means I no longer have a reason to have discussions with him in private rather than on a forum. I am no longer obligated to shield him from weird anons claiming that any disagreement is drama. I was never somehow forced to agree with him on the internet.

I think it's bad form to argue loudly with ANYONE in public. But I don't think that disagreeing with someone necessarily means you're "arguing loudly" with someone. It's quite possible to have a civil disagreement, and I don't think people should feel they can't civilly disagree with their SO when around other people. I find that idea creepy, honestly. A couple is still two individuals, they're not a hive mind. And they shouldn't be expected to be.

Why aren't we allowed to think things are stupid just because they don't impact us? I'm an actual lesbian, and I find this absurd. I'm all for supporting businesses owned by women, etc, but "separating"? Lol that's fucking ridiculous and I'm very comfortable saying so. Noodles is in the right to call this out.
