Veeners are so not the thing here in the US that other countries make them out to be. The only people who get them are people where their appearance is part of their job. It's extremely rare for the average person to have them. But we do whiten our teeth so they aren't the same color as corn.

This.

People are getting all if their information on American teeth from TV (where obviously there will be a greater amount of cosmetic dental work on display) and applying it to the entire US population while simultaneously decrying steretypes about Britsh teeth.

I don't know anyone with veneers. I didn't even know that many kids with braces back when I was a teen, and I knew penty of people whose parents could have afforded them/had insursnce to cover them. I rarely meet people with blindingly white teeth. Only one in recent memory was a woman who had just gotten married a month before and had gone to get her teeth bleached. Most people just use whitening toothpaste or home whitening kits, if anything.

I'm American and have seriously never heard of "veeners". wtf lol.

People who care about their appearances will often whiten teeth or straighten them, though. But they will also probably go to the dentist regularly and have healthy teeth, too.
