I brush mine after I eat something spicy, or something with garlic or onions in it. Brushing the tongue after eating that kind of food makes your breath fresh because the tongue tends to trap the scent of food.

With...a towel? A toothbrush? A teeny tiny brush for your tongue? I can see why you might want to rub off some chilli but up thread reads like people brushing their tongues for cosmetic reasons?

I do it with a toothbrush. After I brush my teeth I put a little dab of toothpaste on the brush and brush my tongue. It gets the food and plaque buildup off. It's not strictly cosmetic, but it does result in a clean, pink tongue, though.
