I think future Christians will vehemently deny that any part of the Bible could possibly be anti-gay, and they'll say that if you think that, you're reading it wrong.

No need to wait, pretty sure there are Christians who do that now with lots of the problematic or inconvenient parts of the Bible: divorce, adultery, dietary laws, not killing witches, beard trimming, tattoos, etc. There are (in their view) legit reasons why Christians don't need to do stuff the Bible says they need to do, and it's mostly to do with the idea that God made a new covenant with the Christians so a lot of the older scriptures don't necessarily apply.

Honestly, as long as people aren't hating on each other and trying to treat each other better and be better people, I don't give a damn if they're being hypocritical.

Well... leaving aside the fact that being a better person surely encompasses being less of a hypocrite, I'd say that it's still a better idea to acknowledge that what the Bible says about gay people is morally wrong instead of pretending that it doesn't say what it says.

The Bible has a lot of questionable rules. If people were secure enough to openly admit that some of them are terrible ideas that aren't a good fit for our modern society, we'd all be much, much better off.

I'd much rather live in a hypothetical future where Christians will vehemently deny that the Bible is anti-gay, rather than the present, where they use to excuse terrible behaviour.
