Named users, what is the most controversial opinion you hold that you will post non-anon?

Anons can post I guess but it really doesn't matter when you are anon. You could be the same person over and over for all we know.

I think future Christians will vehemently deny that any part of the Bible could possibly be anti-gay, and they'll say that if you think that, you're reading it wrong.

No need to wait, pretty sure there are Christians who do that now with lots of the problematic or inconvenient parts of the Bible: divorce, adultery, dietary laws, not killing witches, beard trimming, tattoos, etc. There are (in their view) legit reasons why Christians don't need to do stuff the Bible says they need to do, and it's mostly to do with the idea that God made a new covenant with the Christians so a lot of the older scriptures don't necessarily apply.

I'm not ashamed of any of my controversial opinions, but I don't have many. The only one I can think of that really rustles jimmies is my beliefs on ~tagging hate~:

Character/ship hate is perfectly appropriate to put in the tags (on Tumblr). A tag such as "Pokemon" is a neutral subject descriptor, and "I hate Pikachu he sucks dicks" is perfectly on topic and appropriate to put in the Pokemon tag. If people don't like that, they can make a "positive Pokemon" or "for Pokemon fans" tag and then, any posts of "I hate Pikachu he sucks dicks" in it will be off-topic spam and violate Tumblr's TOS.

If people don't like the tags being used in the way Tumblr intends, they can utilize some other site with a community/group feature like Deviantart or Dreamwidth that can set aside a space for fans only.

I don't know what's my most controversial. People tend to get pretty upset that I'm in favour of sustainable+humane eating because I include rabbits in that. And kangaroo.

Here I had just a couple of them. Clarkson, fanart credits, Cumberbatch is cute, ST ENT is the best, doctors don't care... and I think that's it. Kinda boring.
And something about plains... that people can lower their backrest, I think. Oh, and I don't mind actions in this format - *shrugs*.

Controversial in what context? Because I don't think GMOs are inherently evil or dangerous and I don't believe that gluten is poison (unless you truly have an allergy), but those aren't controversial opinions in the scientific community.

They sure are in the hippie naturalist community though.

- I think church-based organizations should be allowed to treat their employees in accordance to their faith. I remember when some lady got fired from her job as a teacher at a Catholic school because her partner's obituary mentioned her by name, and while Tumblr was all up themselves offended by it, I just sat back like, what did she actually expect? If she'd worked for a non-faith based organization (such as a public school), I would be just as offended as everyone else, but the way I see it, you can't want the church to stay out of how everyone else runs their businesses, then turn right around and try to tell them how to run theirs.

- The Legend of Korra was a badly-written show, and I think throwing Asami and Korra together at the very last minute of the last episode was just bryke pulling a publicity stunt to sell merchandise. I think JK Rowling announcing Dumbledore is gay after the hype about Deathly Hallows being published was, too.

- I think the Star Trek reboot is great, and I'm excited to see if they keep it up long enough to reboot TNG, DS9, and VOY, as well, either as more movies or as reboot television series'.

People really start throwing their toys out of the crib when you tiptoe near any topic that pertains to their orgasms so I imagine any of my views towards porn wouldn't be well-received. TLDR: I think the accessibility and normalization of violence in pornography is probably bad for people's sexualities/sexual development as a whole, especially young people.

I'm gonna walk away from the computer for several hours now, you kids have fun.

Not sure what I believe that would be controversial here.

I found out that it is controversial, even among my very liberal classmates, that I think spanking or hitting of any kind of a child is child abuse. My view is that it would be a crime if we did it to an adult and that what is best for the child trumps a parent's right to parent. But that seems to be controversial at my school.

I am a feminist. People have some funny ideas about what that means.

Personally, I don't hate men. I don't think it's a requirement.
I just don't believe we've reached an acceptable level of near-equality and should just shut up now.

I have plenty of controversial opinions. I just think this is the one that I get instantly hated and judged for.
If I have something to say about a topic people don't think about often, they tend to listen. The second they hear anything to do with feminism or women's rights: insta-NOPE.

Probably the most controversial one I have is that people don't need to know my stance on controversial issues.

Not taking a side somehow gets a whole bunch of people on both sides to declare you're one of The Other Side, or argue that not taking a side isn't possible.

Similar to one of the ones above, I have some libertarian leanings, in the sense that I think any non-essential business should be able to refuse business to pretty much whomever they want. So cake makers shouldn't have to do weddings they don't want to do and all that. It's not specifically about that, so much as I think in theory any of that sort of busness should have the right to refuse service for whatever. 0 sympathy if they end up doing it for that and a boycott follows, that's a natural consequence.

Sexuality and gender is socially and politically constructed around biological preferences and the attempt to sub-classify sexualities into increasingly fine categories is misguided and divisive.

Oh, and prescriptivists are the young-earth creationists (YECs) of linguistics, worse because YECs actually have a coherent (if wrong) theory of text and authority, while prescriptivists are just plain wrong.

Some people take it weirdly personally that I don't care about people associated with my subculture/diagnosis being weird.

Like, otherkin, soulbonders, nounselfers, tulpas, fictionkin, nonbinary? I don't care that they exist around me. I really don't. I have OTHER shit to worry about.
