Re: why is f!s so bad at detecting bait?

I have to say I only understood the last line. The rest of this post struck me as little more than word salad.

AYRT is saying that f!s 'fell for' 3 out of 3 troll attempts that were posted tonight. That's surprising to OP, because the qualities that they list usually indicate that a community will be good at recognizing trolls.

And which of the secrets are bait, exactly? I looked at them, and nothing stood out to me.

Pretty sure it's stuff in gencom, not secrets.

...I have to admit I didn't get that from the OP. Then again, it struck me as word salad thanks to the formatting/grammar. It took a lot for me to even understand part of what was said.

I'm with you. It doesn't make sense to me, either. I mean, I think that they're implying we fell for 3 troll threads, but I don't see anything that could be trolls so I don't know what they're talking about.

Gamergate's clearly a troll, and asexuality in the TMI.

Not sure what the third one would be.

Ah. I tend to skip over anything gamer related since I'm not into gaming, but how is the asexuality thing trollish? The OP posted their issue, people are saying "hey, maybe you're asexual", OP is like "yeah, I know that's a thing but I'm not sure if I am or not" and...that's it? There's not really any wank or drama over it. Just mentioning the word asexuality isn't automatically trolling in itself.

DA

The fact that OP has no answers to legitimate questions, doesn't actually address any of the suggestions or advice, and doesn't seem to have all their story together would suggest troll.

Really? They seem more unsure than anything else.

yep.

that and the classic "i wish i could just be normal!" bait that, thankfully, no one took.

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is that bait? "I wish I could just be normal!" is something I've thought many, many times and I definitely would feel that way if I was in the situation OP is. I mean, it COULD be a troll, but it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that it could be real.
