(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 01:52 am (UTC)(link)And this kind of bullshit is exactly why the Sad Puppies evolved. Who gives a shit about the gender of the author or the "biracial" (LOL I THINK YOU MEAN INTERSPECIES OR SOME WORD CONNOTING HALF-BREED) nature of the character?

(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)I mean, while I think it's dumb, I can kind of see people taking issue with the female author part. Me, I think women and people of various races and cultures bring something different to a book in the writing, and I like to make sure I have a spread. But if you don't care, whatever.
But finding a half elf, half goblin protagonist to be an interesting idea is a *problem*? In what universe?

(Anonymous) 2015-05-15 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)Which is probably why they mentioned it's "wonderful and deserving of all the awards" first. Anon isn't suggesting we submit shitty work just for the sake for diversity, they're hoping that it wins because it's good AND would piss off the SPs.
