Someone explain the appeal of this series, please? I have the first one and I found it boring, sexist, and the gameplay mechanics sucked, on top of running pretty crappy for a game that honestly didn't look that great. Does it improve at all in the sequels?

I dunno, but my friend who's playing the third one said that the story was silly and kinda dumb but also kinda fun, and the gameplay was fun

Respect, and I like you, and I'm not trolling, but you absolutely do that at times.

At the very least, you can be extremely... convinced about a lot of your aesthetic opinions, and treat opposing opinions with an almost complete and total dismisiveness, bordering on outright hostility. I don't know that I would say you've been cruel, necessarily, but I can absolutely understand why someone would not want to engage with you on something where you disagree with them critically. It's almost this berserker-like thing.

I know I can be pretty insistent, but I feel like you're making it out to be a bigger issue than it is. And hell, a lot of it is thanks to my fanclub, I can never tell if someone's fucking with me or not.

No, obviously, I don't think you need to be respectful of those opinions. And I appreciate that the trolling makes it difficult, at times, so I get where you're coming from. It's a tough position.

I'm just saying, having seen the way you argue about things like (for instance) whether Joss Whedon is an acceptable director and writer, or which Aliens films it's acceptable to like, or whether Spiderman is an acceptable hero to like, or whatever, I can also get why someone wouldn't want to engage with you. And those are things, from my point of view, that are outside of trolling.

(And for the record, I agree with you on one of those, disagree with you on another, and am neutral on a third)

Can't pull the specific examples, but lets be honest -- and I mean this as an absolute compliment -- you can be down right brutal!

I love it and all, so no offence meant, but you go after people the way Yahtzee goes after mainstream games.

Honestly no offence meant, it's an absolute joy to watch but if you've got thin skin it's got to be an experience.

I honestly don't see it? I try not to attack people personally for their tastes... It's really not my fault if people tend to take attacks on stuff they like as an attack on them. Lord knows I've certainly done it myself.

Second one is worlds better. It's like a leap from PS1 Batman games to Arkham Asylum. Third one is even better. Like Arkham City with a reach-around. Tight mechanics, Fun battles, well implemented strategy. Detective work is grade A, like "CSI: Middle Earth". Geralt is even more badass, Yennifer is in the game now, and CIRI!!!!!

Plus the beard will actually grow as time passes. Realisitc beard mechanics will sell me any game.

Honestly, I'd skip to 3, but it was 50 quid.

My advice: Read the books. Some of them have been translated. If you like the world, try dipping into 2.

3 should be good and cheap by then.
