Not Rule!Anon, and not involved in the anti-Case thing at all, but can we please get over the ridiculous assumption that anyone who's critical of something must be the same person?

"Can't tell the difference when you're all anon", blah blah blah. I realize it's conveniant for you to imagine that only one person could possibly disagree with you, or that only one troll has some kind of personal gripe, but reducing everyone's complaints - especially about named users, Case or otherwise - as single trolling anons is incredibly obtuse and arrogant.

Critical is one thing. Obsessive hate!boner of case, quite another. Like, I refuse to believe that there is more than one person here so stupid as to constantly bitch about how terrible case is, even if it's for obvious trolly attention, without, you know, doing the logical thing and fucking off.

Is it that hard for you to imagine that some users' behavior and attitudes manage to piss more than one person off? Can a user only have one person who detests them at a time, is there some kind of quota?

Shitty behavior tends to turn more than one person off. Is it so far beyond your comprehension that more than one person might want to be vocal about that?

Maybe there are parts they like, and parts they think need fixing. Not hard to see someone staying for the bits they love, and getting worked up if they are treated like shit when they say there are other bits that aren't so good. Especially when case essentially has said to fuck the anons, he only listens to named users opinions.

Not hard to imagine, no. Impossible to imagine that Case, who does not participate in this conversation, who runs this community for free (updating daily on the dot), is always as fair as possible and never once has flipped out at anyone would illicit anything more than a troll, armed with unemployment and a dream.

While I agree with this, it's also frustrating, because it seems almost certain to me that there are a few people acting in bad faith and constantly make pointless picky complaints and stuff, and also very likely that some of those people are the same person or people who make that specific complaint about everyone assuming that all anons are the same.

It's frustrating.

I'm an asshole!anon, and I'm none of the anons above: not that you'll believe me when I say that. I wasn't always an asshole!anon, I had a lot of fun on the fun threads, contributed a lot on the serious ones, even made some secrets. I noticed that there were things that could be done better and I tried being constructive for a long while but Case and certain named users were so determined to ignore me and be dismissive as well as being really unpleasant and belittling while doing so, I thought I might as well be an ass as they were determined to cast me as one.

No, I believe you. In saying there are people acting in bad faith, that doesn't mean that I think every anon, even every anon who's critical, is doing that. Just that I think it's likely something that's happening.

I am curious what your issues were; but I don't suppose there's much likelihood of you sharing, or of that being productive.

I do think (and I obviously don't know whether or not this is what your case falls into) but I do think there have been times when certain posters would keep bringing up the same issues time and time and time again, long after it had become clear that Case and others had decided to go a different way and weren't going to change their minds. And I do think there comes a point where you just have to accept that it didn't go your way. Again, I have no idea whether or not that was the case in your situation! But sometimes, Case just disagrees with you.

If I had made a baseless accusation I'd agree with you but I was pointing things out that I noticed. When anons claim to be different people but use the same stock phrases every time, it's hard to take their word for it.

I have no dog in this hunt, but I do have an observation:
When people have basically the same complaint there are only so many ways to phrase it, and when you agree with what someone else is saying then it is only natural to pick up on common phrases. Hell, it is the basis of every political and pressure campaign ever.

I pick up turns of phrase and styles of commenting from places like F!S all the time. Sometimes I catch myself and rephrase, but most of the time I only notice well after the fact.

Observations =/= irrefutable proof, especially in venues like this where there tends to be collective usage of phrases and expressions.
