How the fuck does that scene endanger women? It wasn't glorifying rape or saying rape was good. It was shown to be a very bad, evil, and despicable thing to do.

How does her saying she enjoyed filming the scene mean endanger women? I expect it would have been a challenging scene to film and some people enjoy challenges. Also, considering it was offscreen for the most part, they likely didn't get too graphic.

The idea that women secretly like it or something? Idk I'm not the OP but that may be what OP was going for. I've seen people make that argument.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
But that wasn't shown in the show. At all.

I have not seen the itnerview but I doubt Turner was like, "I loved filming this scene because rape is so awesome! I love me some rape."

I'm not the OP so idk, again. I am only repeating things I've heard people argue. I personally do not really care

Keep in mind a lot of people are saying it wasn't rape and that she consented, and are using the actor's words to back it up.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Who is saying this? Link some please?

(Anonymous) 2015-05-30 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Not that anon, but I've seen comments like that in shit holes like IMDB, 4chan, and this one GOT related forum someone posted on tumblr showcasing assholes saying they wished the rape scene was more explicit/Sophie got fully naked for it/"Sansa didn't say no so it was consensual". Granted these places are shit holes that contain some of the lowest forms of human life, but it does happen.

shithole sources + no links/pics = you talking out of your ass, anon

(Anonymous) 2015-05-31 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
You really need links to believe there are misogynistic shitbags like this online? Really? STFU and stop trying to dismiss this.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-01 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You have no proof to your specific claims and have chosen to lash out at me because of it. Awesome!

Go back to Tumblr where proof and sources aren't required to whip sheep into a panic.

Links or you're full of shit.

TW: description of Sansa rape scene in GoT

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I don't know how anyone can claim that! O_o

It's been framed and presented as very creepy. Sansa walks into the room and the back of her dress gets ripped open. The guy pushes her down to bend her over something (hay? It's kind of dark in the scene), and it's clear from the focus on her face and her expression what's being done to her.

Just because she's not struggling doesn't remove the element of lack of consent.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-30 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm going to echo the above comments and ask you to link to the "a lot of people" who are saying that.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-31 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm going to say you're a fucking moron if you don't know how many asshole misogynists (especially those who dump on Sansa) there are in the GOT fandom. Grow the fuck up.

I think the problem is that it's happened that women being badgered into confessing they have rape fantasies has been used to undermine them when a defence lawyer in a criminal trial uses it to try and reframe the narrative into the MRA/meninist's OMGFALSERAPEACCUSATION narrative.

I saw that scene and it was pretty understatedly creepy, and that's all I'll say on that so I don't need to trigger warning this post.
