She described the scene as "daunting" and seemed to like it because she considered it a challenge as an actor. She also called it sick and messed up. How is someone who wasn't already thinking it supposed to read that and come away thinking the thoughts in the parentheses?

There are some men who will twist anything a woman says regarding rape into "proof" that all women secretly want to be raped. I can totally see those people getting that from her comments (and obviously, they are idiots because anyone with reading comprehension could get that that's not what she said. But people will see what they want to see). Of course, that's not Sophie Turner's fault, and she probably hasn't encountered those men yet.

That's why I specified people who weren't already thinking that.

I can actually understand being disappointed in what she said, but thinking that she's contributing to this particular idea in any significant way makes no sense to me.

The only folks I can think of who would actually believe that are those Return of Kings nutjobs, and they are so faaaaaaar down the rabbit hole that Wonderland isn't giving them up. Nobody with any sense could seriously say that that's what the actress meant.

Nor can I see how anyone can blame the actress when RoK types twist her words.
