Nope. Star Fox was technically the first fandom I was actively apart of and it was really small at the time, and even then, it mostly was a bunch of furries with their glorified self-inserts eclipsing the canon cast in most fanworks. Though seeing as I wrote Star Fox self-insert fics with my 5th grade friends and I, uh, something something stones, glass houses. Granted, I had inadvertently bailed years before Star Fox Adventures, so I didn't get to see the fandom split in two afterward. So no, it didn't spoil me at all.

Then there was Legacy of Kain... which, funny story, I also got banned from a then-huge LoK forum because I mouthed off at Dennis Dyack, believe it or not. But looking at how far off the deep end he's gotten in recent years, I almost feel a belated sense of vindication there... (But don't ask for the details, because I honestly don't remember what exactly happened. All I know is that I recall mouthing off to him, the admin banned me, and that was that as far as my interaction in LoK fandom went at the time) Other than that, the LoK fandom at the time was... something else, so no, didn't spoil me either.

There was also Final Fantasy, and while there were some neat pre-Compilation stuff (back when FF7 was a great blue yonder as far as head canon goes), I did some childish bullshit on a forum -Shera's Kitchen, iirc-, so coming back last year-ish was a wonderful experience, because pretty much nothing from that time period exists on the internet anymore, lmao. Though I was able to find some old fan fics on FF.Net and AO3 (Princess Artemis' fics and Fritz Fraundorf's 'Cid Wars' series, the latter of which was not as good as I remember it being as a teenager), but not any old fan art. Ah well, the fanwork quality these days is exponentially better than back then anyways.

Mass Effect, though, spoiled me pretty hard. That's all I'll say there, because I'm running way longer than I thought. D:
