Why is your reasoning that other people "need" to stop celebrating their holidays because you don't like them? I'm not sure how this helps make things more culturally diverse.

This. If you're wanting to diversify fandom, then definitely go ahead and promote exchanges around other holidays/events. The more, the merrier! But sheesh, there's no need to police those who are celebrating their cultural events.
