What kind of easy mistakes, as in confusing things or things people take for granted, have you seen non-Australians make when they first come to Australia?

So many mistakes.
People getting into the wrong side of the car to drive.
Not understanding the "swim between the flags" rule at the beach. Or any rule at the beach. People are very determined to ignore warning signs. This is how you get stung by blue bottles.
Sun protection is necessary. You will not tan here. You will fry.
Australia is really expensive. If you don't bother to ask around, you'll end up spending way more than you intended to.
