I get that as a criticism of the books, but Suchet!Poirot isn't like that. He's arrogant, yes, because he knows he's smarter than anyone else. But he's also very kind to everyone, especially children and women. He doesn't judge anyone before he knows them. He has friends in society's higher places but unlike most of them, he doesn't look down at his nose at their servants or other blue-collar workers.
