In theory I agree with you, though as a western christian myself, I'm a bit like the person upthread who said they would feel shy about writing about other religions as they might get it wrong.

My other nitpick is when non-Earth fandoms get Christmas dumped on them when they have no sensible reason for it. Worse yet is stuff like Valentine's Day. I don't want that in Middle Earth and expect the mid-Winter festival to be Yule.

My personal beef with Yuletide etc is that as a Christian working in a religious job, I can never take part because there's no way I can find time or energy for it.

On the upside, it means that I have great stuff to read when I collapse in a heap at lunchtime on the 25th, so I'm not massively hacked off or anything. But IMO the fannish calender is not so much Christian-centric as post-Christian/ Western secular centric.

It is a shame there aren't more fests around other religious traditions. I wouldn't have much to contribute, but I always enjoy reading Purimgift fics for my fandoms.
