Stranger's infant. No debate. I love my pets but a dog is not a person. And a dog lives (on average) like 60 years less than a human.

And giant tortoises on average live way longer than humans. Would you save that?

I get that it's a moralistic thing where humans > all, but sheer lifespan is a bad argument for it

Lifespan is just one of the reasons I'd choose a person. Intelligence is another and I don't consider tortoises all that intelligent. So they are out.

So when it comes down to two intelligent beings, I'd choose the one who lives longest.

Of course, I also think that human > animals.

Oh no I got where you were coming from, I meant the way you put it and pointed out the human lives longer made it sound like that was the reason and not "humans > animals regardless of anything"
