Roman Reigns is wonderful.

Never really got why people started booing him anyway. Was it because of The Rock at RR?

People got pissy over him being "pushed" on the fans. I don't really get it either. But, I do agree he wasn't quite ready. His mic skills weren't up to par and he didn't have enough personality of his own. He has def improved greatly, and, as OP states, I think positive crowd reaction is helping him become a lot more comfortable and he is displaying more personality that helps put him over with more and more fans.

They got pissed because they wanted their precious Daniel Bryan to win.

He's gorgeous, and I can't unsee him as Melkor anymore.

I really need to find some free time to watch him.

Kind of reminds me a bit of Batista from his last run. He clearly didn't like how the fans turned on him after the Royal Rumble. Not his fault that he was booked to win and the fans wanted Daniel Bryan, but still I do think it lead to his booking out of WWE early.

Daniel Bryan fans are so pissy, and as much as I do like Daniel Bryan and wish him the best of luck and hope he recovers from injury, I think him being out helps with the reception of previously unloved wrestlers like Roman.

Might have helped of the WWE had actually put Bryan in the Royal Rumble match Batista won.

That and the incredible chemistry he has when working with his former Shield buddies. Working with them again, crowds remember what they used to love best about him. And apart from the fact that he is genuinely getting better and better, working with familiar partners lets him play up what he is best at.

I'm SO glad someone in Creative (Jimmy Jacobs, is that you?) realized that he relaxes so much when Seth and Dean are in the picture. No stupid beanstalk stories, no stilted bluster, just a guy interacting with two people he has great chemistry with. Even if he turns heel (I hope he won't, but it's wrestling) I think he and Dean could continue to bring the awesome together (Dean's reaction to being betrayed by Roman would be SO INCANDESCENT, I'm not sure my retinas--or my heart--could handle it).

Also, I have never seen a human being look so damn hot when beaten up and laughing. I feel like a bad person saying that, but DAMN.

Omg imagining Deans reaction to Roman's betrayal is turning me on to the idea of heel Roman a bit more.

I don't WANT it to happen, but imagining Dean's complete and total solitude (yes, in this scenario J&J would have to go to Kane, not him); how he'd play a one-man-against-the-world, fuck-it-I'm-going-out-in-a-blaze-of-glory reaction makes me go weak in the knees. HE WOULD BE SO BEAUTIFUL. BUT I DON'T WANT HIM TO LOSE ROMAN.

He is beautiful :) I haven't been following the matches (last I checked he was still a villain) but I'm glad to see him happy and ...beautiful lol

He was too scripted during the road to WM. He was so unnatural and the role they were forcing him to take didn't fit. I prefer him as the eager best friend to Ambrose because the things you've listed are more apparent. I do feel like they are inevitably going to turn him heel soon and I think he'd do a good job in that role.

You shut about him turning heel. I'm so not for that.

But, if it happens, I hope it's good.

I don't know anything about wrestling but good lord that guy's smile is cute as hell.

Roman wasn't really the problem. WWE was, and that tends to be the problem when pushes go wrong.

Roman was fantastic in the Shield days, I enjoyed him a lot. When he was the silent badass who just kicked ass and didn't say much. Then WWE decided oh hey we need to rush his push into the main event scene, and he was off for weeks for hernia surgery so it cut into any possible chance he had at a more natural push and SOMEONE decided "Oh hey now we need storytime with Roman" so we get the dumbest possible promos I've seen in awhile (and there are a lot of dumb promos in wrestling, but to lead into a Wrestlemania main event with this stuff was mindboggling)...

You add in Daniel Bryan's misfortune and people not accepting or really knowing that he sadly just wasn't healthy enough to maintain a main event level match at Mania and be a successful champion for the longterm, there were a lot of things working against Roman at the time. Even though he and others said a lot of things in interviews as well at the time that made me eyeroll, in hindsight, I do feel sorta bad for him, it wasn't his fault, just a lot of events that kept snowballing into something really ugly. But I think WWE salvaged it decently enough with Seth's cash in.

We'll see how I feel come July when I see Seth vs Roman for the title at a houseshow before Battleground, heh.
