Really don't need to see ugly old men kissing.

[identity profile] brandiweed.livejournal.com 2015-06-12 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
How about charming old men?

I do

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't. At least Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo are attractive.
Joss Wheadons forehead is like the size of my living room.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay cmon anon it wasn't that bad.

Choose one and only one.

I am probably one of the few who feel this way, but I enjoy most the MCU canon pairings. Not saying they are the pinnacle of romantic writing or that all of them have the best, most thorough development, but I like them much better than expected. I've seen far worse canon pairings.

Obvs just my opinion, and tbh I didn't like the way Nat/Bruce played out either, but it isn't the end of the world.

Suspected Clintasha shipper spotted.

Proceeding to puzzle over why Bruce/Natasha is what's pissing most Clintasha shippers off and not that other thing.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol I've seen a lot of clintasha fans get pissy over clints secret family too.
I guess they're just not as loud or obnoxious as the super anti-brutasha camp.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
To be honest, I'm not a Clintasha shipper and I really didn't like how Bruce/Nat was handled.

Not that the pairing couldn't be good -- there's DEFINITELY some good fics out there.

But Whedon couldn't write it to save his life.

It's like sooooo many of these horrible blockbuster romances: it comes out of nowhere with no development and it completely shoves a female character into a supportive role for a male character instead of giving her her own story.

I could list SO many films that do this it's not even funny. And it sucks.

>>Not that the pairing couldn't be good -- there's DEFINITELY some good fics out there.

Any recs? I came out of the movie shipping it hard, even though the movie itself wasn't the best handling.

Who is this? oO
hiyami: (Bunny munch)

[personal profile] hiyami 2015-06-14 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I recognized the red-haired one as Joss Whedon. Google Image tells me it's Clark Gregg (Coulson).

[personal profile] solticisekf 2015-06-15 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, I was really curious about the mystery man - I recognized J.Whedon but not C.Gregg.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
How about neither? I'm good with neither.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Why does everyone say BruceNat is canon when it didn't really work out for either parties? Natasha gambled on a romance that didn't work and Bruce kind of skipped town instead of stick around after the kiss.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
People who throw giant fits over this pairing really confuse me. I mean yeah its pretty evidant that bruce and nat still have feelings to each other, but at the end of the movie they're still not together and it's shown pretty clearly that nat is trying to move on with her life.
:/

(Anonymous) 2015-06-11 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
ayrt

I don't like the paring and how it was written, but when everything's said and done, things played out decently in the end. Bruce made his choice to leave and Natasha made her choice to stay with the New Avengers. I'm actually pretty okay with that!

(Anonymous) 2015-06-12 10:26 am (UTC)(link)
>>Bruce kind of skipped town instead of stick around after the kiss.

To be fair to him, he did have one of the few people he trusted utterly betray him. I mean, Nat was right that they DID need him but it was still an awful thing to do. I've found it interesting that people complain about the kid discussion earlier in the movie (and admittedly I think some of the complaints are valid and most are willfully misinterpreting things), because the NOTHING MATTERS MORE THAN THE MISSION was an important part. She thinks she's a monster because of it, but when the chips are down she will throw her own chance of "happiness" under the bus to get the mission done and be a hero in the process.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-12 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I have said my fair share of opinions on this matter so much that I might as well become a named user here and have since stopped saying it because I feel really repetitive.

I personally found what Natasha did to Bruce (kissing him against his consent and force triggering a Hulk out) to be my biggest problems against the paring, actually. Yes, I get that Natasha did it for a reason, but she can't stare Bruce in the face, Bruce I-have-HUGE-trust-issues banner, all but say "I love you" and then betray him like that. I don't blame him for leaving at all, I was more or less just writing it as neutrally as I could manage for that original comment.

I don't even know what that means. "Cornflake"?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-12 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
I assume someone either has no idea what cornflakes look like or no idea what assholes look like.

[personal profile] hiyami 2015-06-14 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I doubt hymens look like cherries either.
I assumed cornflake was some new fandom way to say "gay cherry". Well. Considering ass hymens don't exist, you can as well call them cornflakes if you like?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-12 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Those are real people, not fictional characters. "Canon" doesn't apply.
