Whereas I will not be watching this movie because it seems like it has over my limited tolerance of live-action violence&action, even though the female character stuff sounds interesting.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by how little gore there was in the film. A lot of the really serious violence is implied or just off screen, or conceptually(rather than visually) horrible. It's very much not a blood-n'-guts type of film.

DA

I'm glad to hear that! I've been wanting to see it but I've been worried the violence plus some of the stuff in the start would be too much for me to handle.

I think there were only two gory scenes: Max coming back after blowing up the "Scales of Justice" with blood on his face and Joe's face after his mask got ripped off.

MORE SPOILERS

More spoilers!

There's also the one guy on the pole who gets shot (with a shotgun or something) and there's a glimpse of exposed rib cage, but it's extremely brief and the camera doesn't really focus on it.

There's a just-offscreen c-section of a baby that's died and you see baby feet and the umbilical cord.

There's also a fair amount of blood flying when Joe gets his face ripped off, but you really don't have a clear view of anything and again, it's very fast.

The one time we see Joe's face after that, it's not at all a surprise that it's going to be revealed. It's the only clear gore shot in the movie and it's telegraphed ahead of time and it's over quick.

I think the most disturbing stuff is, as ketita pit it, "conceptual" rather than in your face gross. (Like the Bullet Farmer being blinded, the Keeper of the Seeds getting hit by the saw, the c-section, and many people being run over.

It seemed like they replaced a lot of the blood-splatter places with fire-splatter places, so that instead of people getting pulped and blood and bits spraying everywhere, people would disappear in wreckage and flames and sometimes gears or shrapnel or debris would spray everywhere. I thought it was a cool artistic choice.

I don't know, I can see not going to it because action and car chases aren't your thing, because that's 80% of the movie and if it's not your thing it's not your thing.

I can even see not going to see it because you're afraid it won't match the hype, but this? Ehhh.

I don't like gore or a lot of violence and I was very pleasantly surprised by this movie. I averted my eyes a lot during the battle scenes the first time I saw it, but kept them wide open the second time because I realized it was not like I expected at all. I was actually more disturbed by some parts of the Road Warrior than Fury Road, even though the latter has a higher body count and more outrageous stunts.

Most of the blood and stuff happens off-screen. I hate graphic gore but this movie was fine. There is a lot of action, though - it's an action movie.

unfortunate, but a fair reason if people still haven't convinced me otherwise.
