Re: Canon Couples You Would Have Liked If They'd Been Handled Better

I really don't like Amy/Jake so far in b99. I like their friendship but I feel like they're TOO immature in regards to their feelings for one another.

The relationship hasn't fully come together yet so I'm not going to completely judge, but I was against them getting together and was disappointed by it happening in the finale.

Yeah, I love their friendship and everything but they don't work for me as a couple very well. I just can't see Amy finding a relationship with Jake to be to be entirely satisfying. Also, I REALLY liked Jake/Sophia (I have a weird thing for lawyer/cop pairings and they actually fit together pretty well) and it still bums me out that they didn't last long. I mean, I knew from the beginning that it obviously wasn't going to be end game but still :(

NAYRT - Jake and Sophia DID work well, didn't they? I loved everything about them.

NAYRT either - Sophia booking the Room of 1000 Dolls for them at the bed & breakfast in "Road Trip" had me crying from laughter. That subplot was amazing.

AYRT - Wasn't it though?

haha, I just commented about the doll scene too. It was so great!

ayrt

They were hilarious together and I loved Eva Longoria in the role (Dear TV: please cast her in more shows). The scene where they talked about having sex in front of a bunch of creepy dolls cracked me up and cemented by love for them.

I ship them, but that kiss at the end of the episode was really weird. It felt like a scene had been cut. The handling of it makes me worry about the relationship in season 3.

I'm torn on this one because on one hand I don't mind Jake/Amy, though I think part of that is because I knew from the get-go that they were gonna be endgame, but I also think they're perhaps rushing it a bit. But then I don't like will they/wont they BS either, idk, I just hope that they wont have stupidly contrived conflicts and drama break them up or cause problems because that shit gets old too.

I didn't want a will they/won't they either but I was kind of hoping b99 wouldn't go for the obvious romance angle and maybe even have them like each other but have it not work out and they decide they were better as friends (that could still happen.)

I watch b99 for the friendships anyway and I don't really need a romance, I don't mind if the characters date but I don't want any romantic angst.

Yeah I get you on this, Jake/Amy isn't awful or bad, just predictable and I'm more here for the friendships rather than the romances(tho Ray/Henry is adorable, and I really liked Jake/Sophia even though I knew they were going to tank that).

Idk, I'll see where it goes but I really hope there won't be too much relationship dramaz or angst.

I like them, but... I don't see a lot of chemistry on Amy's part. I can totally believe that Jake has feelings for Amy, but it's not like Jim and Pam or Ben and Leslie where the feelings were obviously very very mutual (if conflicted for different reasons). If we removed the kiss from the last episode and the fact that they're clearly meant to be endgame, I'd say that Amy likes Jake a lot and he's probably the one she's closest to, but you can be close to someone and not be in love with them. Gina's supposed to be close to Jake too. (Although I've never been clear on this one, because other than when they point out that Gina and Jake are childhood friends, I've never seen much indication that they have any sort of connection outside work.)
