I respectfully but strongly disagree - I think the original is not only the best of the franchise, but in and of itself is a lovingly crafted, deftly made, well acted and intelligently scripted monster movie with a moral compass and a sense of humour. I liken it to Die Hard in its perfect build up then use - and exploitation - of its setting to create tense action scenes that make sense and don't just rely on big scary dinosaurs. Then, when the dinosaurs show up - that's when things get fun.

The others, including Jurassic World, to me seem like they're either trying to recreate the magic of JP, or shoehorn something that doesn't quite fit into the series. Jurassic World came the closest to Jurassic Park (by essentially copy and pasting the character dynamics of the original but tweaking them slightly). But to me, it just felt like another, lesser sequel.
