Once, I was a plate of spaghetti.

That was a bad experience, because it hurts in every strand of me that gets bitten into, over and over again. And being slurped through someone's lips feels gross.

Basically most times I've ordered at fast food restaurants, though I haven't really been to one of those in ...more than a decade now.

One time in particular I recall going to A&W on a school trip, ordering a hamburger, and proceeding to barely make it home before vomiting it all back up.

There's a greasy spoon place that's mostly breakfast food that I used to go to a lot. It wasn't fancy, but the prices were reasonable and the people seemed nice. The last time we went, though... to start with, we couldn't get the waiters to pay attention to us and the food was taking forever. And then I look over to the wall in our booth, and there are little roaches running around. We moved tables, but our waiter didn't seem to notice or care, and when the food came, we all ate just enough not to be rude, paid the bill and fled. Never going there again, and pretty sad that a nice place slid downhill like that.

A pizza that was 3 quarters cheese, 1 quarter everything else.

Eurgh.

I love pizza and don't mind that they include cheese (a substance I usually avoid in other dishes) but the ratio has to be right, I mean damn.

I forget exactly what I ordered, but I was in a restaurant once that was the very picture of cheery Americana. The waiters were friendly, the service was prompt, the furnishings were charming, and the food was greasy and horrid. I almost felt guilty for not liking it.

Spaghetti. It was cold. After I notified them it was, and they "reheated it", it was still cold. Never went there again.

I once made the mistake of ordering a Greek salad in Pennsylvania.

It was mostly lettuce, the cheese was cheddar, and the dressing was watered-down Italian. There was a single sickly olive and a couple of grape tomatoes. No cucumbers, no onions, no pepperoncini. I was so disappointed and so hungry.

But I guess if that's the worst thing I've ever had in a restaurant, I'm doing pretty well.

Went to a "Japanese" restaurant and ordered some kind of beef dish.

God, it was awful. The beef was fatty and greasy and covered in batter, the sort of thing I'd expect in a budget Chinese restaurant. I couldn't finish the meal, it tasted so bad. I felt sick for an hour afterwards.

I was so mad they were trying to pass this shit off as Japanese. I actually felt insulted. The authentic Japanese cuisine I've tried has been all about clean flavours. Not that mess on a plate.

Not a single other person at our table could finish their meal, either. I think that was the one time we've ever asked for our money back. They offered to make it again and we were like: "NOOOOOOO."

Yup, anytime you see "hibachi" and "buffet" (or "express") in the same restaurant description, BEWARE. It probably is a budget Chinese restaurant in disguise.
