Uh, VERY few people call their parents by their first name, even when they're an adult. Calling your parents by your first name isn't an "adult" thing, it's an "a few random people here and there do it" thing.

99% of people call their parents mom/dad/etc until the day they die.

It is one of those phony recommended steps "lifestyle guides" give out for maintaining your adulthood to people who flunk out of life and have to move back in with their parents. Supposed to make it seem more like hanging with housemates than living with mommy and daddy again.

lolwhut that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

It sounds like "Here's a Handy Tip for Wading In Da Nile With With A Better Ego Boost, So That You Have Even Less Motivation To Get Out Of This Situation!"

Seriously? I've basically been living with my mom my whole life, with the exception of a 3 year stint in an apartment. And I've always called my parents (and grandparents and aunts and uncles) by their first names. I'm probably autistic or something along those lines, I'm an only child, I've got no cousins, my whole family is weird, and I didn't see other kids, or adults who weren't family or doctors, more than once or twice a year until I started kindergarten.
