Re: Creepy Stories (Real life edition)
Back when I was in college (graduated in 2010), I was involved in the local anime club. Every semester we'd start off by showing the first episodes of whatever looked good that season, then vote on what we'd actually be watching. There was one show, probably in the fall of '09, that I was mildly interested in, but we never ended up watching.
Fast-forward to 2011, I'm in grad school being the weirdo grad student that still shows up to anime club, and the club leader announces the lineup...and it's the same show from undergrad that I was interested in. I even remember making some snarky comment about how this looked okay the time I heard about it but hopefully it'll be better than it seemed (it was). Kind of weird that we were watching an older show when we usually saw the new stuff, but whatever.
The weird thing? I eventually looked up the show, and it didn't even come out until 2011, years after I had left undergrad. The really weird thing is that the anime in question was fucking Steins;Gate, the anime about why sending text messages backwards through time is a terrible plan and leads to remembering things that never happened.
