How is your hump day?

It is hump day, mine was shit because it was pissing with rain here and I had to nail anti-cat spikes along a massive fence, which took all afternoon. I was soaked to the skin by the time I finished, and I bet it doesn't solve the customer's cat problem either. Nothing like wasting an afternoon in the freezing rain for no results.

I spent the day job searching and being pissed off at my mother. She's supposedly being helpful. Except she isn't actually even looking for jobs for me. She keeps sending me links to paralegal temp agencies and email advice supposedly about friends about just finding "something to keep the lights on." And the thing is I've actually already started also looking for paralegal work. And I get it already. So she isn't even being helpful. She could actually be spending that time looking for law jobs for me. But I can't complain because right now I'm living on their money (even though the only reason I am is because she refused to cosign my bar loan).

I spent the entire time thinking it was Tuesday and now it's Thursday and I'm very disorientated. It was pretty busy though.

...the cats are climbing the fence? There must be some hella motivation for them to do so. Open garbage or compost in the yard? Something must be attracting them.

Coffee grounds and citrus peels keep them out of the flowerbeds IME. We've got all forms of rodent life here, so I don't mind a few strays passing through the rest of the property, as long as they get "takeout" with them as they go....

Forgot to add my hump day sucked. There's some kind of bacteria in the company A/C that makes me consistently sick, so I go through various stages of upper respiratory illness off and on throughout the summer.

Neighbourhood cats, there are loads of them around here, just using the fence as a waypost on their way to whereever. Cats round here roam where they want, nobody keeps the fuckers in, and frankly even a seven foot fence is an easy climb for them.

Well, got into work and everything smelled like skunk. Realized that a skunk must have sprayed the AC unit outside of something (it was filtering in). So it was all skunk, all day.

Pretty dull, but that's fine by me. I have a cat sleeping like a baby in my arms, the house is kinda cold, and I have kimchi fermenting on the counter.

I finalized some plans for a trip to Peru in October. So...my hump day was amazing.

Quite good! Went to dinner at my dad's place, saw all three of my sisters and got a free Samsung S5 out of it to replace my iPhone 4S.

I now suffer from the extreme first world problem of missing iMessage and iOS style emojis.

Realised I'll need to get my wrist checked out which is still playing up (took a bad fall off a bike two months ago, got scans, and after a lot of consultation between four doctors they told me it was fine).

Pretty worrying to be honest, I can't afford to have any kind of long term damage.

I am not a doctor, just a cyclist, but I'd guess if you got the scans, then there's no bone damage. You might have muscle or ligament damage that's not going to show up so easily. Might be worth wrapping it with a tensor bandage, and icing it when you can. Better still to see a physiotherapist, but I usually opt for the wait and see method. Eventually (sometimes 6-months-eventually) they get better on their own. Maybe I've just been lucky.

Finished my final exam; no stress. The first review of my book was supposed to be up today; tons of stress. I keep obsessively checking the review site.

Shitty. My foot still isn't better, and if anything it's worse than yesterday which sucks because it was nearly healed yesterday. I'd like to be able to leave my house and do things. I haven't even seen my dog in over a week because I have to keep off this piece of shit.

Foot injuries are the worst. I twisted mine in the spring and it took like two months before I felt it was "normal" again. I was so afraid with every step that I'd make it worse somehow. Do you have a crutch you can use?

My Legos came so I'm super excited. Just have to finish work before I can check them out.

I woke up late, had to rush my shower, was tired all day.

Then on the way home from work my windshield fogged up and my fiddling with the climate control trying to clear it enough to see made me swerve enough on the road that an off duty cop called an on duty cop to come pull me over.

Thankfully I didn't get a ticket.

My week has been very weird and today was the first time I was at work in the last six days (I took time off for Gen Con, then went to only half the con because I had a death in the family, and took another two days off to go to the funeral). It was odd to be back after so much time away. Work was pretty okay though. Not great but not terrible, either. I slept so much last night because of such an exhausting long-weekend and then I have Friday off because I work this weekend and I need to focus on buying a car again and basically I'm just savoring these couple of hours to internet before bed. There's just a lot going on right now.

I slept the day through because I'm nocturnal right now (it varies), and then lost a whole stack of gameplay in The Sims 4 when the game crashed, and flaked out of Inquisition halfway through the first quest.
