...how is it even humanly possible to eat that amount of food in one day? Do you just...never stop eating...? Eat three huge five-course meals?

It's pretty easy if you eat calorie-rich foods or drink stuff with a lot of sugar.

I'm the same anon. 3000 calories is a lot less than you think, I'll talk about yesterday.

Morning. A big breakfast. Usually a couple of bowls of Cheerios at 250 calories each - that's big bowls of cereal, but actually not particularly filling so that's 500. A big bowl of blueberries and an apple pushes it to 800.

Lunch. Lighter because it's close to breakfast. A salad with chickpeas and tomatoes (300 calories) and hummus with pita bread (200 calories). A couple of Oreos for dessert and I've reached 1460 already.

Snacks. A chocolate, maybe another Oreo, 1620.

Dinner. 3 slices of pizza, 300 calories each. 2520. Avocado dip and a dessert shared with my family pushed it up to 2800. These are just estimations, but it really does add up a lot more than you think it does. I'm a pretty small girl but dieting seems to knock my appetite up to 11.

Try starting with low-carb, protein-rich breafast, instead of just cereal and fruit. It'll leave you feeling full longer, and won't fuck you over for the day by spiking your blood sugar first thing.

... that is way, way too much food. you're not supposed to eat more than one bowl of cereal and three slices of pizza plus avacado dip and dessert is definitely too much.

Are you 3000 calorie outrage girl?

Idk, doesn't sound like thaaaaat much to me. I eat a lot of food. So do other people I know. We ain't that big. I'd call that a bit of a junk food day but not a binge.

Thanks! If you read my post above, it's clear that I really didn't know that!

Have you never heard of fast food, or something? A large Big Mac meal is about 1300 calories, and that's one meal.

What the hell are you talking about? How is it REMOTELY unbelievable that someone eats 3000 calories a day? Especially in Western society with fast food and snacks? I mean fuck I'd say most Americans are probably eating closer to 3000 calories. An order of fast food can easily jump you at over 1000 calories, with a burger and a shake - and more than that, you don't even feel full since it's all junk. Go out to eat at a restaurant, where portions are three times too big and everything is drenched in salt and sugar, you can eat even 2000 calories in a sitting without realizing it. (check those menus that list calories, it is insane) That's not including snacking, sugary drinks, and such. People are eating too much, because they are eating junk that doesn't make them full, it just makes them fat.

I am just so confused on how you think 3000 calories is unreasonable. For that matter, lots of athletes go on 3000+ calorie diets (even 5,000, even 10,000) and are healthy because they burn it all off.

I'm confused that they know that much about calories and so little at the same time.

Do you know what binge eating disorder is or do you just not care?

da

I know what a binge eating disorder is, and I also know that a 3000 calorie daily diet is not the magical qualification.

you are either bad at math or enjoy being ignorant

OP has 1200 calories while dieting
OP switches to 3000 calories while binging
OP has gained back 5 pounds of weight during binging
OP has presented no other factors in this equation

So here's a pop quiz:

What happens when you are used to a certain amount of calories, and then suddenly start taking in 2.5 times the amount of calories you are used to?

Go ahead, I'll wait.

MTE

I once read about a lady who was eating closer to 11000 (before changing her eating habits). I myself have gone through 1000 calories' worth of Oreos before lunch -- thankfully, that was a one time thing.
