Re: Pairings
(Anonymous) 2015-08-09 03:07 am (UTC)(link)Oldest: Ned/Chuck from Pushing Daisies. I shipped them from the pilot when it aired and I still ship them now. I find it fascinating that their love literally defies death. They're so sweet and I really liked Lee and Anna's on screen chemistry. It's a classic (forensic) fairytale. Canonically, I'd love to see their relationship develop more in a complex way if the show wasn't cancelled.
Weirdest: The Luteces from Bioshock Infinite, given that they are two sides of the same coin, so to speak. But I find their ubiquitous nature and nonchalant demeanor endearing.
Newest: Will/Riley from Sense8. I tend to be fond of opposites attract type of ships. (Kala/Wolfgang is a stronger example but I digress). Particularly there's one person who seems very quiet and hides a somber past, yet somehow remains resilient and the other who reaches out and doesn't give up on them. Plus the fact that they're in the same cluster and share each other's thoughts and emotions really gets to me.
Now onto crossover pairings...
Oldest: Knives Chau/Pavel Chekov from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World/Star Trek (2009). Despite the different time eras, they are the youngest out of their respective groups, as well as the same age in the movies. In a way, they are opposites: Knives is energetic while Pavel is more.. down to earth. Somehow they balance each other out.
Weirdest: Tadashi Hamada/Elsa of Arendelle from Big Hero 6/Frozen. They are from completely different times,
but perhaps they could meet in the afterlifebut there's time travel. Once again, they're somewhat opposites: vivacious/reserved, science/magic, etc. But both care about their families and have created sentient life, which is unbelievable.Newest: Hiro Hamada/Riley Andersen from Big Hero 6/Inside Out. Both are from the same city (albeit alternate versions) and they're within the same age group. Of course, given that they're too young to be shipped in a way like the other ships I've mentioned before, I can imagine them becoming good friends over time, although they tend to be competitive and snarky at times, whether in building robots or playing hockey. (This is the closest I have to a toy ship. I hope I clarified that.)
